December’s Unity Supper features Rain Pryor’s Fried Chicken and Latkes. The adult-themed animated short centers a mixed race little girl named Rain, whose Jewish grandparents invite the Black side of Rain’s family over for their first Passover Seder. The family gathering dissolves into arguments and leaves Rain wondering how to balance the multiple parts of her identity. After the film, Rain Pryor offers a talk back about the film while we enjoy a meal of soul food, latkes and conversations about how our intersecting identities make us stronger. Please note that this Unity Supper is for people 14 and older.Content warning: the adult-themed short includes explicit language and references explicit drug use. Note: No one will be turned away due to inability to pay. Please use the On The House option to be our guest, if needed.
In order to cover costs of programming and simultaneously ensure anyone wanting to join us at Third Space is able to do so, we have implemented a “Choose Your Own” philosophy for our ticketing tiers.
